Connor's SECOND Easter Weekend!

The weather was amazing all weekend, and we really enjoyed some good, quality family time. It was one of the best weekend's we've ever had! Saturday night we had dinner with my parents, since my dad was leaving for China on Easter Sunday. We had lamb, twice baked potatoes, delicious green beans (yes, that's the name of the casserole...but they WERE delicious), and rolls. I put a little of each of Mr. Picky's tray, but he only ate his roll. The kid LOVES bread. I tried to get him to eat some of the other things, but he refused. Oh well, as long as he is eating and growing, that's all that matters to me :)

Sunday morning we went to the church service at Grace Community Church. That's where Connor goes to daycare. It was one of those new-age contemporary services. There was an 8 piece band, lights, big screens, smoke...it was like being at a rock concert! And the message was just so-so. I am not 100% sure we will be going back. It was a little different. We would like to find a happy medium between the traditional church and the new-age churches. I like the upbeat music, but I am also a fan of stained glass.

Sunday after church, we had Subway for lunch, came home and......took a nice......long.....family.....nap. I can not TELL you the last time that took place. I put Connor down and he feel right to sleep. Then Justin and I were laying in bed talking and both of our eyes started getting heavy as the conversation slowed wayyyyyy down. Next thing ya' know, it had been almost 2 hours! It was so refreshing! We awoke to the doorbell....it was the Freeman's! We had a nice visit with Michael, Crystal, and little Miss Carley! She looked precious in her Easter dress :) After they left, we went and visited with the Hossley's, Kyle, and Pam. They had just polished off what looked like a fabulous Easter lunch! The boys played outside, the men worked on the John Deer, and Macon, Pam, and I just sat in our lawn chairs and relaxed. It was a beautiful day for friends, family, and fellowship. We are reminded all the time of our many blessings. Here are a few shots of Mr. Cool in his super suave Easter get-up, along with a couple pics of his super cool mom and dad ;)

Check out these pictures from last Easter...he was our tiny little baby boy :) All holiday's from here on out are going to be his second....no more "firsts". It's bittersweet, really :)

My oh my, how fast they change in a year!
We hope you and your family had as blessed of an Easter weekend as The Scarlet's did :)

Birthday Party # 2!

Despite his pink-eye and double ear infection, Connor partied it up with some friends (ok a LOT of friends...like 40 friends...whew) at the house on Saturday the 27th. We had food and drinks (adult beverages included), cake and ice cream, presents, streamers, balloons, and a super Sponge Bob bounce around to occupy the older kiddos (and help them burn off some of that sugar! lol!). Connor had a ball on the bounce around after several of his guests left. He was pretty overwhelmed with the number of people that were here to celebrate his big day (and the fact that mom and dad have managed to keep this little thing alive and growing for the last year....yay for us! lol) :)

I must say, as a mother, the worst part of the party was when I had to open ALL Connor's gifts in front of everyone. Connor really wasn't feelin' the whole present thing, so I was all, "ohhhhhhh", "yaaaaayyyyy", "coooooool." Im not gonna lie, I felt like a dumbass. Lol! But regardless, Connor got some super fun toys, cool clothes, a handmade toybox that his Papaw worked so hard on, and his nifty big boy wagon that Justin had been working on for months. I hope that someday Connor knows how much pride his daddy has in that wagon. :)

Here are a few pictures from the Big Bash!
