Happy Thanksgiving!

Maxine's Thanksgiving Pictures, Images and Photos
I just love Maxine, she's such a smartass. I only hope to be that witty when I'm her age :) (Lol, look at me, talking about a ficitonal character as if she was real....maybe it's time for bed!!) I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful that every single one of you is a part of our lives. God has given us many incredible things to be thankful for this year, and I just feel like shouting it from the rooftops...buuuuut since it's kinda cold out, and I would probably end up in the ER if I stood on the roof, I suppose I will just blog about it from the warmth of my bed in our "slash room" (see previous post regarding the "slash room")
Heeeerrrre we go.....we are so very thankful for:
  • Connor.....he reminds us each and every day why we are here. It's truly the most amazing thing we have ever experienced.
  • Health.....aside from Connor's regular doctor's visits, Justin's yearly check-up, and my many many trips to the OB during my pregnancy, we have not had a single "sick" visit to the doctor this year (knock on wood now, right?!) :)
  • Family....I have truly been blessed in this area of my life, and I know Justin feels the same. We can call on our family for anything, and I mean ANYTHING. And we feel blessed to have them so close. We are also thankful for our naughty doggies.....they are family too. :)
  • Friends.....we love our friends, they are all so wonderful and have touched our lives in so many ways.
  • Jobs....we both have jobs that we have had for over 4 years now. With the recession, we feel blessed to be employed, period.
  • New Home....God was behind us 110% when we found a place to someday expand our family. I mean, seriously, 4 days....we sold our home in 4 days.....I'd say God had his hand in that :)

May God Bless each of you this Thanksgiving, and may you be reminded everyday of your many blessings. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Now LET'S EAT!! :)

Welcome To Our "Slash Room"

Yes, here it is, our "slash room." We are all set to move on November 30th, the Monday following the Thanksgiving Holiday. One of the stipulations in our contract is to have the carpets professionally cleaned for the new owners....wellllllllll, being that we have to be out on the 30th, that ONLY gives us until Wednesday of this coming week to get the carpets cleaned. I am almost positive we would not find a soul who wanted to clean our carpets during the Holiday weekend. All that being said, we have to have EVERYTHING off the carpets by Tuesday morning because that is when the deed will be done. SO, we have moved our bed into the living room for the duration of our stay in our first home. You are looking at our

Living Room/ Bedroom/ Playroom/Dining Room
We are now living off of our hardwood floors. :) Today, Connor's crib will be moved into the extra room we have that also had hardwood floors. If you'd like to come for a visit, please don't feel awkward when I offer you a seat on our bed...lol. :)

Just 8 more days until.......It's the picture from the flyer, but it's all I have for now. I didn't want to look like a psycho stalker, driving by taking pictures of someone elses house...lol :)

Drew's 21st- VEGAS BABY!!

I can't believe it. My "little" (6'4) brother is 21....yes, 21. That means I am 28...yes, 28. Wow. We spent Drew's birthday in Las Vegas! 4 days of fun, food, and family!

The trip started out beautifully with my First Class ticket! Something happened when dad was using his miles to book seats, and I ended up with the mother of all plane tickets! Lol! After all was said and done, Mom, Drew, AND I all sat in First Class on the way to Vegas! (Justin would have been in First Class, but when his ticket scanned as an upgrade and my Mom's didn't, Justin gave his seat to my Mom. What a sweetheart....one of the many reasons I love him!) Right after we took off, the Flight Attendant brought everyone a small dish of assorted nuts. I grabbed a couple, put 'em in my mouth, and said, "Oh my gosh, HOT NUTS!" LOL! I was sitting next to my Mom who just died laughing at my loud, excited, exclamation of my discovery....I guess I could have kept it down a little...maybe everyone else in First Class thought it was just as amusing as my Mom. :)

Saturday night, we went to see the Beatles Love show (Justin, Dad, and I had already seen it once on previous trips to Vegas.) It's amazing. If you've never seen it, SEE IT! Mom, Drew, Melissa (Drew's girlfriend), and Evan (Drew's friend), thought it was pretty awesome. Speaking of Melissa, she surprised Drew by coming to Vegas. We all knew it was coming, and when she walked into the lobby of Harrah's, Drew was VERY excited (he seemed a little relieved as well....he didn't have to spend the weekend with us lame old folks...lol!)

The rest of the weekend was spent betting on football, eating delicious food, hanging out on Fremont Street (Downtown Vegas), trying our luck at the slots, playing a little video poker, riding the roller coaster at New York New York and the "Big Shot" and "X-Scream" rides at the Stratosphere, and taking various pictures of Mom....so she could get a good one for her Facebook :) Below are a few pics of our trip!

After video poker dealt me a Royal Flush!

Of course there was an Elvis sighting outside of the mall

One of my beautiful mother's attempts at a Facebook pic....too bad Justin stuck a fork in the way! Lol!

Me, Dad, and Mom on Fremont Street! We had a ball downtown! Won quite a bit!

Vegas had some pretty sweet cars!

We had a great time, recharged our batteries, and are now getting ready for our big move on November 30th! Thank you, Dad, for an amazing trip, and thank you Gramma and Papaw for keeping Connor so we could go!

Halloween Hershey's Happiness

For Halloween, I gave our little guy a Hershey's chocolate bar....well, half anyway.....well, maybe after I fished a few pieces out of his mouth he only had an eighth or so...lol! But, nonetheless, he made a HUGE mess and had a fantastic time doing it! Gotta love a little chocolate monster!

Connor's New Trick!

When we returned home from Vegas we spent the whole day with Connor, and we found out that he learned how to wave (to himself) while we were gone! I noticed him doing it without any prompt, but then I waved to him, and he waved right back....well, sort of :) Here's a short clip of his new trick! I love it!

Live, LAUGH, Love :)

This laugh is contagious...lol! I crack up everytime I watch this little clip :) Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!!

Connor had a pretty good first Halloween! Connor visited his Nana and Granddad, his Great-Grandmother, and his Gramma and Papaw. His sweet little monkey costume didn't fit in his car seat, so we had to put his costume on at each stop. By the 3rd stop, he was a little cranky...but I would have been too. Plus, it was his dinner time, and when it comes to being hungry, Connor is JUST like his momma.....when we are hungry, don't mess with us! Lol :) We were home by 5:30, fed Connor his dinner, gave him some chocolate (yes, I gave my baby some Halloween chocolate. Justin filmed it, but the whole video is of me fishing pieces of chocolate our of Connor's mouth....I THOUGHT he would just gum the Hershey's bar, but nooooo, he kept biting off little pieces. I didn't want him to choke!!), and got ready for the trick-or-treaters! I just LOVE to see the little ones in their costumes!! I asked Justin to install a storm door JUST so I could see the little goblins walk up....I LOVE Halloween! Here are a few pictures from Connor's adventures as a little Monkey Man :)

Friday before Halloween, we stopped by to see Granddad at his office! Connor was sporting his fancy pumpkin suit! As you can see, Granddad and Connor are both happy boys! Granddad loves surprise visits!

And the latest on the house....sold ours, bought a new one, close November 30th! Happy Packing to us! LOL! :) This is all going so smoothly. Thank you ALL for your prayers :) We love you!
