I Fall for Fall....EVERYyear!

FALL is my absolute FAVORITE time of year. I claim to like Summer despite Arkansas' muggy-can't breath humidity, and I always say that Christmas is my favorite Holiday, but when it comes to alltime favorite season, fall takes it all!

Things I love about Fall:

  • Football!!!- the games, the get-togethers, the food, the friends...can't beat it!
  • Crockpot meals- pot roast, chili, autumn harvest pork loin..mmmmmm

  • The gorgeous array of colors that paint the trees

  • Halloween- I LOVE the precious trick-or-treaters in their costumes, and the look on their little faces when you put candy in their bag!

  • Thanksgiving- I love getting together with family under LESS stress than Christmas, and the endless amount of awesome football games that come on, both Thursday AND Friday. Oh, and who can forget getting a couple extra days off work!

  • Cool, crisp, tolerable air

  • The way the fall decor looks in our home- The colors go oh so beautifully....I wish we could leave fall decor up ALL year long. Of course, I always say that about the Christmas tree too ;)

  • It starts getting dark at a NORMAL hour

  • Our wedding anniversary- November 12th if you want to get us anything..lol :)

  • Off season prices to places like Mexico and the fact that it is still warm there!

  • The smell of the Planters Peanut factory- there's just something about it when the smell hits you in the fall...

Fall is like the calm before the storm......It's just a nice, relaxing time of year before gearing up for the chaos of Christmas! I am not for sure when the first "official" day of Fall is, but we are already celebrating in the Scarlet household. Fall decor went up today, and there is a pot roast in the crockpot! Now if we can just get some of that cool, crisp air I was talking about......

CONNOR will be 6 months old tomorrow! The months are truly whizzing by....every day he is more and more of a "big boy!" Here are a few things that little C is up to:

  • Still sleeping all night, from about 8 or 8:30 until 7 or 8 the next morning! Thank you baby!
  • Eating cereal and fruit for breakfast with a 4 oz bottle of half formula and half apple juice.
  • Eating a little fruit for lunch with a 6 oz formula bottle.
  • Eating either fruit and veggies, meat and veggies, or one of the combo foods (chicken and noodles, turkey and rice, turkey and sweet potatoes.....) for dinner.
  • Sits very well supported, and can sit 2 or 3 seconds by himself before wobbling and falling over.
  • Still has just his 2 bottom teeth, and boy are they CUTE! This pic is a little blurry, but hey, after 6 tries, we will take what we can get! lol
  • Talking and laughing CONSTANTLY! He has been saying "Ne-Ne" and we SWEAR we heard him say "Daddy!" :)

  • Rolling ALL over the floor, front to back, back to front.....if you turn away for just a SECOND he will end up about 3 or 4 feet away from where he started out playing on the floor...lol. After putting him in the middle of the MASSIVE play pallet I made for him, here is where he ended up after only about 5 minutes.

  • I put him BACK in the middle, typed a couple more sentences on the blog and looooook where he ended up...

  • Holding some of his bottles on his own....I teared up over this one yesterday :'(

He is momma and daddy's super cutie patootie! :) I still can't believe he's 6 months....We are loving every minute and look forward to sharing the Fall season in the Scarlet house with our new little addition :) Here are a few more pics of our little punkin' ;)

Great Grandma Lou meets Connor

Last September, we surprised Grandma Lou with a 70th Birthday Party. At her party, we surprised her AGAIN with the news that she was expecting a Great-Grandbaby! Click HERE to read all about her fun-filled day! I just can't believe that was a year ago. I was about 12 weeks along, and now, Connor will be 6 months old in just 8 days!

Grandma Lou drove all the way down from St. Francis, AR to meet her Great-Grandson! Here is Connor and his Great-Grandma Lou. Connor is wearing the outfit that she brought him, minus the overalls. We put those on later :)

Here is Connor all ready to go to a shrimp boil at Papaw and Gramma's house :) I LOVE the overalls that Grandma Lou bought him...they are so stinkin' cute!! Pardon the non-professional looking cell phone pic....sometimes it's all I have handy :)

And here is Grandma Lou giving Connor some goodbye kisses! Travel safe, Grandma Lou! We love you!

Connor's First Tailgate :)

Here is a pic from Connor's first Razorback game. It was dinner time, and Daddy said it was his first tailgate party :) I've seen MANY a tailgater with food on their face....but for reasons other than being an infant...lol :)

Connor's First Razorback Game!

Here is a sweet picture of couple of handsome Hog fans! :) Justin was very, VERY excited about Connor's first Razorback game! After a little difficulty with Cox cable (as USUAL), we were finally able to watch the game at about 7:00 (an HOUR late!). Connor slept through most of the first hour of the game, then took his bottle, then went to bed....lol, but hey, it was still his first game, and we had a fun family party! :)

Crystal and Lil' Miss Carley's Shower!

Andrea, Stephanie, Stacey, and I hosted a shower for Crystal and baby Carley Grace in my home on Saturday! It was a fantastic shower with great attention to detail (I just can't help myself....). We chose to go with a "High-heel Diva" theme for the shower, since Crystal just LOVES her heels (and I am pretty sure Carley will too!). The colors we chose for the shower were hot pink and lime green, accented with zebra print. I made Carley's Poppin' Pink Punch and rimmed the glasses with watermelon Pop Rocks! I was so proud of that punch...lol! Party planning really is a passion of mine, and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to make a business out of it someday, so for any of you readers, if you know anyone who needs a good event planner, I'm your girl! :)
Crystal had a fantastic time, as did everyone else! The shower was TONS of fun, and Crystal got LOTS of great gifts! Here are a few pics from the shower! I will post more when I can get my hands on them!

We have teeth!

Well, Connor is 5 months old (as of 9 days ago) and has started cutting his 2 little bottom teeth. Front and center! He hasn't been TOO terribly fussy, but he is having his moments :) I cant imagine how bad that has to hurt him, poor guy. But he's a little trooper! I'd like to thank the makers of Children's Tylenol and Baby Bliss Gripe Water for helping us manage these tough times :) Oooooooooo, how I just LOVE him! Here are some pictures that Daddy took last week!

At 5 months old he is just "talking" up a STORM! He babbles ALL the time! He is eating cereal with fruit in the morning, 8oz bottles throughout the day (with the occasional banana or juice snack in the afternoon) and a half jar of fruit and half jar (or Gerber plastic container thingies) of veggies for dinner. At around 7 or 7:30, Connor takes his last bottle before hitting the sack around 8 or 8:30. He sleeps until 8 or so in the morning! SUCH a good boy! He has started rolling over in his sleep, so we bought one of those monitors with the little handheld video screen! Our high tech kiddo has a camera on his bed, so at night when he fusses a little, all we have to do is hit the button on the monitor to make sure he is ok! We love it! :)

He is still eating in his bouncer, but tries to sit up in it ALL the time! He also tries to grab the spoon and feed himself, so this morning, we tried him out in the Bumbo for breakfast. WOW, what a MESS!! Lol! Here are some pictures from our little adventure lol!

Oh, and I cheated.....I gave Connor a Gerber 2nd food. I know that it's for babies who are "Sitters" or who are 6 months old, but when I saw that Gerber made baby Mac and Cheese, I couldn't help it. Mac and Cheese is my FAVORITE food, so I wanted to share it with my kiddo :) Forgive me ;)
