SUPERHERO DAY at Chick-fil-a!

For a child who loves every Superhero known to man, this was one of the best days EVER! CJ was a little reluctant to have his picture made with Hulk at first, but once he acquired his own Hulk mask, he was good to go! :) The excitement on his face when we pulled into the parking lot was priceless! Oh how I love him ;)

Summertime: Swimming and School!

I know this post is a little late, but aren't they all these days? ;) The first week in June was a busy week of firsts for our big boy! It was his first time to take swimming lessons, and it was his first week in PRESCHOOL! Technically, it's just their summer program, but I thought it would be a great transition into the curriculum based preschool that starts in August! So far (aside from the few tears during drop-off) he is LOVING it! Water Wednesday's, Story Time/ Music Man Thursday's, Bike & Trike Friday's.....the fun is endless, and he is just getting started!

Swimming lessons were TONS of fun! By the end of the week, C was the ONLY kiddo who didn't have to wear a floatie, and on "graduation day" he did a BIG jump off the diving board in the deep pool.  He has been floatie-free ever since, and we are both proud and incredibly amazed! It's so fun to watch him grow up (and a little sad as well......he calls me "Mom' now, no more "Mommy...")

Graduation Day! Look at that face! He told me he was scared at first, but then he wasn't and he just JUMPED! Thanks, Mr. Ian, for teaching him how to swim!

These sweet snapshots were taken right before the tears started (for BOTH of us!) I just can't believe he is old enough for pre-school!

Not sure how many of my followers are left, but I promise to try to do a better job blogging! Lol!

Thanks for stopping by!!

A Little Strawberry Pickin'

Last weekend we took our big boy out to Wild Things Farm with Granddad and Nana to pick strawberries and check out the other spring festival activities!

They have a little cup that runs up a belt to feed the goats. We would run the cup up halfway and the goat would use his mouth to pull the belt up the rest of the way! We did it over and over.....annnnnnd over. Lol! It was great entertainment!

Connor also rode his first pony! "Bullseye," he called it :) After the nerves subsided, he had a ball!

An hour and a half of shucking, washing, and slicing strawberries yielded some great smoothie strawberries, and a delicious strawberry shortcake!

Happy Summer Time!

Dear Connor.....You are THREE! :)

Dear Connor,

Each year, I write you a letter on our blog to share with you how important you are to your Daddy and I.  I can not believe you are 3 glorious years old. We love you bigger than the sky, son. You are the absolute joy in our busy, hectic, sometimes stressful, lives.  Just one hug or kiss from you makes all the "not-so-fun" parts of being a grown-up disappear.

You are handsome, kind, smart, and full of life.  You have wonderful manners, love animals, still don't eat veggies (unless I sneak them in), and would live off of a candy diet if I would let you. You like your big boy bed, although you seem to find your little way down the hall and into our bed every single morning somewhere between 3:00am and 5:00am. And your sense of humor is just like your Daddy's.  Just two nights ago, you were laying in our bed and I looked at you and said, "Connor, why are you in Mommy and Daddy's bed?" You looked me back dead in the eye and said, "You have got to be kiddin' me." We laughed so hard after you said that, that I forgot what I had asked you in the first place. Where do you come up with this stuff? :)

You are obsessed with anything and everything superhero. You are still sporting a Spiderman costume almost daily, 5 months after Halloween. It's your world baby, whatever you want to wear is fine with me. I love it!

Everyone said that there is no such thing as the "Terrible Two's", and I would have to agree.  You have been a complete joy this last year. Now, we hear that the "Three's should be called the Terrible Three's." We shall see....so far it's just your first day, and you are doing fine. Could be that Spiderman Bike and Blueberry Pancakes you got this morning in honor of your big day. But whatever life throws our way, we will handle it. Your Daddy and I love you unconditionally, and that will never change.

Here's to a new year of fun and life!

God Bless You, Sweet Boy.

Love,
Mommy, Mom, Momma, & Woman (lol!)

Still No Christmas Post, I Know....

But hey, we can post a little post about Valentine's day, right? :)

I'm pretty anti-Valentine's day. Come on, Justin and I have been together for 10 years. Everyday is Valentines day :) I can't stand going into Walmart around the big corporate love fest....all those pink and red balloons just make me cringe. Lol!

BUT, Valentines Day is about the kids, right? It's about LOVE, and who better to give a token of your love to than a 2 (almost 3!) year old? :)

Ok, so last year I was the mom at Connor's sitter who FORGOT to send Valentines. I think I ended up sending some late Toy Story ones, but can't remember. This year I totally redeemed myself (and my son) with custom superhero Valentines! I found the idea on Pinterest. The website said they would take about 20 minutes to make. WRONG! Try 2 hours. But was it worth it to see his little face light up? You bet it was :)

We made little handprint Valentines with a thumbprint heart for the Grandparents and Great-Grandmother. The Valentines were a hit, needless to say :) And for those who aren't close by, we e-mailed the picture below to show our love. Love is what it's all about. All day, everyday, all the time.

Connor also received extra special Valentine gifts from his friends, The Flanary's and The Hossley's. Not to mention all the great goodies from his parents and wonderful Grandparents! His favorite gift? A new Spiderman costume (offffffffffff course) that actually fits! The one from Halloween had become too small.

And.......as anti-flowers-on-Valentines Day as I am, I was overwhelmed with happiness to receive roses from my sweetheart of almost 10 years. And of course, they died a short time later lol but I still have the vase ;) I am a very happy Momma.

We hope you all showed (and were shown) some love on Valentines Day! Xoxo!

The dreaded day of the big switch....

The big switch from crib to half a crib with a rail (aka, "big boy bed"). I didn't have a lot of trouble with Connor turning one, two came surprisingly fast, but again, was no big deal....but THREE?!!? THREE?!?! I tear up just thinking about how fast the time has flown by, and am amazed at the amount of love I feel for that little boy each and every day. He has my heart, my whole heart, and my soul....every ounce of it. Each day as he flies around the house in whichever Superhero he is feeling, I just take a second and reflect on how much he has changed our lives. We love you Spiderman! Hope you enjoy your big boy bed! You keep "practicing" going to bed. I hope when it's time for the real deal, you are as eager as you were at 6:30 this evening.

January?

The weather this month has been so incredible! We have been enjoying some fantastic time outside at the park, in the backyard, and most recently, at Jack's 7th Birthday Party held at the Old Fort Museum! Connor had a ball at the party! It came fully equipped with a scavenger hunt, pizza, cake, ice cream, friends, fun, and a chance to drive the Trolley! Thank you, God, for this gorgeous weather, and for a chance to spend some wonderful quality time with my family and friends!
